Research

Emily’s research is centered around identifying early signals driving light-induced photoreceptor degeneration. Her work is particularly interested in the markers lying at the intersection of photoreceptor function and retinal inflammation.

Prior to joining the Burns & Pugh lab, Emily was an undergraduate research assistant with Dr Anita Manogaran at Marquette University from 2015-2018. Emily is a part of the BMCDB graduate group at UC Davis and is currently funded by the UC Davis Molecular and Cellular Biology T32.
